Dum, dum, du-dum...Dum, dum, duh-dum...

While the Groomsemen were prepping me for the big day, I began to think about this thing called marriage. What it meant to me, why I was doing it in a Church, how important this was for Benicio, and where the hell was that next shot of Patron that 2Coq kept promising me...It all seemed so surreal (and I hate using that word because I believe it has lost all its cache; but it's all I can think of to describe what I was feeling). Here's this guy whose entire career of bachelorhood was based on...I actually have no idea what it was based on but I'm pretty sure it was based on something in the area of cool. Now here I was: putting on my slick clothes; watching my buddies putting on the clothes I picked out for them; wondering how my future Wife was going to look (actually, I wasn't really thinking of this but I gotta give the girl something to brag to her friends about); and still waiting for that damn shot of Patron!

Hey, is that the new Pearl Jam album cover?

(note: amazingly I have no pics of the ceremony or the reception...I'm sure they are out there so stay tuned. In the meantime let's fast forward to the Honeymoon.)

Benicio took to Hawaii like a fish to fishbowl - meaning: it took him some time to get used to. The crashing waves were tough for him but he kind of got used to it...I think. Actually, he was really cool. My biggest fear was the plane ride and it turned out to be no big deal. He slept and or ate the whole time. Pre-Daddyhood, BeniciosDaddy used to get a little pissed about the screaming kids on planes, in restaurants, movie theatres, etc...And now, I'm just waiting for that first ass-clown to turn around in his seat and say, "Can you keep that kid quiet!" I've got so many come-backs planned for that day. Like, "Maybe he'd be quiet if you weren't so ugly." Or, "Why don't you shut-up, before I have to make you...shut-up!" And, "Does Barry Manilow know you raid his wardrobe?" (That's actually a borrowed line from Breakfast Club but surprisingly it works in this situation).

"Check out my Trie's."

It wasn't the typical romantic honeymoon but it worked. I'm pretty sure seeing Benicio in Hawaiian water for the first time is something I'll never forget. Violet and I will have plenty of vacations together and I think this was important to do as a family (I'm still not sure why but again, Violet needs the bragging amunition).

It's amazing how well a 6 month old uses a camera.
