East Is Least

For all those who are looking for stories about BeniciosDaddy teaching his son how to BBQ, play sports, or pick up the ladies (he may have to talk to Uncle Gooch for that one) please come back next week. This week is Basketball time. The NBA playoffs are here and they are Fannn-tastic (and why can't they just bring back that tag-line? Instead, they go with the stupid "Why I love This Game?" BS, where pop-actors explain why they love to watch the Knicks play...give me a break. Get back to me when you can explain the pick and roll)!

Here's my East Predicitions:

Miami kills NJ in 4...Bienvenido a Miami. Shaq is in the playoffs and Kobe isn't. In fact, Shaq is probably favored to win it all. I wouldn't go so far as to say that but I do think they are going to tear apart NJ. Why? Cuz' who is gonna guard Shaq? Jason Collins...Brian Scalabrine...Get out of here. Vince will make the games competitive but that's it.

Detroit over Philly in 5...a little hiccup and then the Defending Champs get it together. My main question is when will the fans start turning rabid on Chris Webber? Do they give him a game or two and then start throwing bottles at the guy...stay tuned.

Indy over Bos in 6...I don't think Boston is that good. Reggie's last hurrah will push this team to the second round. My reasoning: Matchups. Who is gonna stop Jermaine O'Neal? Raef LaFrentz...the guy couldn't stop Scott Pollard from changing hair-styles during their Kansas days (I know, stupid joke...but it was hilarious in my head).

The Wiz over Baby-Bulls in 7...Great series. Back and forth action. Air Gordon will win a couple at the buzzer but The Wiz have too many people on that team. Antoawaan (however you spell it) Jamison, Larry Hughes, and Gilbert Arenas are a mean Trio. Most exciting series in the East.

I Love This Game (In my best Jim Carrey from Cable Guy voice)!!!

2 Down...

...1 to go. Benicio was the first baby born on the block (not counting the families north of 1808 and south of 1734). And then came Hezekaiah. Now all we need is a Baby Boy/Girl Moreno to complete the Trifecta.

Although it always seemed like a great idea if we all had kids at the same time, I never thought it would actually happen. I moved to the neighborhood in 1986 - nineteen years ago - and although I don't live there anymore, I still visit the family weekly. There are plenty of memories on that block and I'm sure Benicio will have some great one's visiting his Grandparents and Aunty. I just hope he doesn't wake up "The-Guy-Who-Sleeps-In-Car". I personally remember him more as "Guy-Who's-Going-Off-To-War" but apparently he doesn't suit up anymore.

NBA Playoff Predictions:

Suns over Memphis in 5...Memphis stumbled into the playoffs and they are going to stumble out of them. The only worry is if Mike Miller stays as hot as he's been, although that could only push it to a sixth game. Phoenix is just too good this year. Nash-ty should get the MVP this year and if he doesn't, I won't be that sad...Shaq deserves it just as much.

Denver over San Antonio in 7...Upset of the playoffs. The Spurs haven't had a chance to play with Timmy in any important games down the stretch. Meaning: they've been on cruise control. Denver however, has been hot and will continue their hotness through the next round.

Seattle over Sacto in 6...Too many injuries will lead to an early exit for Cowtown's Finest.

Dallas over Houston in 7...Dirk Diggler will continue his MVP play by barely getting by a team that matches up well with the Mavs. Yao will again be booted out in the first round against a team that plays a lot of zone and will not allow him to post up.

...East predictions to follow.
